Washington returns to the practice field after a day off
The Washington Commanders are back in Ashburn for the tenth day of training camp practices, and today’s practice again wasn’t open to the public. Washington had a week of intense work in the pads, and they’ve started to get dinged up. The team had off yesterday, and several players dealing with minor injuries like Emmanuel Forbes(groin), Saahdiq Charles(calf), Cody Barton(hip) and Curtis Hodges(glute) are here, but Logan Thomas(calf) is missing his second-straight practice.
Emmanuel Forbes:

Strong work from the DBs in drills. This Commanders secondary could be quite good and has strong depth.

Offense looking better:
Initial impression of the offense today: much more efficient than Friday. Receivers getting open and offensive line has looked better in the run game. Leno and Paul moving well on pull blocks and in open space

Joey Slye has definitely been the more consistent kicker in camp so far. Michael Badgley’s 50ish yarder came up just short.

2 min drill ends w field goal attempts. Slye and Badgely hit from 40, Badgely went again from 50ish and left it short. In the kicking comp there’s no doubt who has the stronger leg but accuracy on XPs is prob the biggest concern for Slye

Sam Howell:
For me Howell is at his best when the ball comes out fast. He has the arm to beat DBs to the edges, Terry and Jahan can win on those routes. Quick 7 yard outs can pick up first downs, sustain drives. Mix that w effective run game and you got something.

Curtis Samuel did not take any reps in the final 20-minute team period (7v7 and 11v11). He had a convo with Eric Bieniemy on the field just before the start of the period, then stood on the sideline holding his helmet the whole time.
