If there was any thought left in the minds of Tennessee Titans fans and/or media that the team may move 2023 first-round pick and left guard Peter Skoronski to left tackle, where he played in college, it’s time to let that die.

I was once in that group myself, especially when the Titans had yet another disastrous situation at left tackle last season. However, once Skoronski did not see a single snap at the position, it was quite clear it wasn’t going to happen.

There was a chance the new coaching staff would see things differently, but that is not the case. During his NFL combine press conference on Tuesday, head coach Brian Callahan stated that Skoronski’s best position is at guard.

“I think you always cross-train guys, but I do think Peter’s best position is at guard,” he said, per Jim Wyatt. “But until you get your hands on players, and they are in the building, there’s always a cross-training element where guys will swing to different spots. But I do think his best position at this point is guard.”

It’s not surprising that Skoronski won’t be a left tackle at this level, as it was always believed his arms were too short for the position. And I certainly can’t get mad at the Titans not wanting to put too much on his plate with a position change.

Skoronski definitely had some growing pains during his first season but he did show enough to convince me he’s got the goods to be a long-term solution at left guard in Tennessee.
