They’ll be on the roster for tonight’s game

Just before their Monday Night Football clash with the San Francisco 49ers, the Minnesota Vikings have brought a pair of players up from the practice squad.

The team has announced that wide receiver Trishton Jackson and outside linebacker Luiji Vilain have been added to the roster ahead of tonight’s game.

Vilain is in his second season with the Vikings, having appeared in three games with the team in 2022 and being re-signed to the practice squad after being waived as part of the team’s final cuts this year. With Marcus Davenport going on IR this week with a high ankle sprain, the Vikings might be looking to give Vilain a few reps in the hope of juicing up the pass rush a bit. This will be Vilain’s first opportunity on the active roster this season.

Jackson has been with the Vikings since 2021 and has appeared in two games for the team so far in 2023, playing a total of eight snaps on special teams. There’s a possibility that he could get a few reps tonight as well with Jalen Nailor apparently not ready to return from injured reserve after his hamstring injury. This is his second practice squad elevation of the season.

We’ll have the inactives for tonight’s game for you in just a few moments, but the Vikings have brought up a couple of potentially unfamiliar faces for tonight’s game.
