A roster move on a Monday

On Monday, the Minnesota Vikings placed another player on season-ending IR while bringing another back to the roster for the first time this year.

The team has announced that defensive lineman Dean Lowry has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a pectoral injury in Sunday night’s loss in Denver. To take his spot on the 53-man roster, the team has activated offensive lineman Chris Reed, who was nearing the end of his window for returning from the Non-Football Injury list.

Lowry, a free agent signing for the Vikings in the offseason, suffered a groin injury in the victory over Green Bay and had missed the two games prior to Sunday night. He’s had a relatively quiet year for the Vikings so far and now it would appear that it has come to an end.

Reed started the season on the non-football injury list for a foot issue he had been dealing with during Training Camp. He signed with the Vikings before the 2022 season, appearing in seven games with one start for the purple that season.

We’ll have news on some other moves here shortly, but that’s the first one we needed to take a look at for today.
