Big loss to the OL

Washington lost the centerpiece of their offensive line on Sunday when Chase Roullier was carted off the field with an air cast on his leg. He was quickly ruled out after leaving in the 2nd quarter with an ankle injury per the team. After further tests it was determined Roullier had fractured his fibula. He sought a 2nd opinion, but now the team has shut him down. He will reportedly need surgery and is likely done for the rest of the year.

Update: Roullier will have season-ending surgery

Roullier was a vital part of the offensive line and handled the calls at the line. He was replaced by Tyler Larsen who is expected to start in his place for the rest of the year. Washington has Keith Osmael on the practice squad, and has already elevated him twice this year. If they plan on having him available as a backup on gamedays they will need to sign him to the 53-man roster.

Washington has been without rookie 5th round safety Darrick Forrest since he injured his hamstring before the season started. He was kept on the original 53-man roster so he could be eligible to return this year after going on IR. Forrest returned to practice 20 days ago, and the team had until tomorrow to either activate him, or shut him down for the season.

After the trade deadline passed with no moves made by Washington, they announced the released of TE Jace Sternberger. He was signed from the Seahawks practice squad after Logan Thomas was placed on IR on October 6th. Sternberger was inactive every week, and was buried behind Ricky Seals-Jones, John Bates, and Sammis Reyes. Logan Thomas will be eligible to return, and this could be a positive sign for his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Update: Washington expects Logan Thomas back after the bye week.
