NY Jets: Rodgers’ former WR calls him one of ‘greatest teammates’

A former Packers wide receiver called the New York Jets’ quarterback one of his greatest teammates

One of Aaron Rodgers’ former teammates had very high praise for the future Hall-of-Famer.

Speaking with Zach Gelb of CBS Sports, former Packers wide receiver Marques Valdes-Scantling called Rodgers one of the “greatest teammates” he has ever had.

“Man, he’s one of the greatest teammates you’ll ever find. He cares more about his teammates than about the game of football. You know, I think that’s something that people really don’t understand. Because people get this perception of him that he’s this diva or all about himself, that’s the furthest thing from the truth,” said Valdes-Scantling.

“Aaron has taught me so much on and off the field. He’s a big advocate of mental health and how you approach life, not just football. The things that he’s gone through over the years, he shares that and kind of just lets you know, like, hey, I’m human too… Just for him to be able to open that up and be a great friend to me, not even just a teammate, I’m forever indebted to him.”

The veteran wide receiver also mentioned that he has talked with Rodgers about potentially coming to New York but will let the process “handle itself.”

MVS is yet another player who has endorsed the Jets’ starting quarterback. Whether current Jets teammates or old Packers teammates, all players seem to have positive views of Rodgers and what he brings as a teammate. This is vastly different from the media’s negative perception of Rodgers.

Rodgers has been and will likely always be a divisive figure off the field. However, when it comes to interactions with his teammates as a player, the quarterback always seems to be viewed positively, and Valdes-Scantling only made that more apparent.
