Unbelievably, the 4-8 Carolina Panthers will be coming out of their break in striking distance of the NFC South lead. But, it’ll start with an uphill (and cross-country) battle.

Tipico Sportsbook has opened the traveling Panthers as 5.5-point underdogs to the 7-5 Seattle Seahawks for their Week 14 matchup.

Carolina entered their Week 13 bye off a dominant victory over the Denver Broncos and quarterback Russell Wilson—someone these Seahawks are sorta familiar with. Behind a 2.0-sack performance from defensive end Brian Burns, one that earned him NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors, the Panthers locked up the ponies to just 246 total yards in a 23-10 triumph.

Also helping pace the win was Sam Darnold, the team’s third starting quarterback of the 2022 campaign. The fifth-year passer threw for 164 yards while chalking up a pair of touchdowns in his first start of the season.

Seattle will come in fresh off a 27-23 dub over the Los Angeles Rams. Quarterback Geno Smith tossed for a career-high 367 yards and three scores on the afternoon.
