Population: 600. That’s what the sign reads when you enter Howard, Kan., where Isaiahh Loudermilk was born and raised. It’s a far cry from Pittsburgh’s 300,286, but the defensive end is making the best of it.

“Pretty much every town is different than where I grew up,” Loudermilk recently told Steelers.com’s Missi Matthews. “There’s not really a whole lot that goes on there, which is why I do the things I do now.”

When Loudermilk isn’t hard at work learning all the ways to be a Steeler, he’s out and about in the city.

Loudermilk shies away from downtown since he’s not a big city kind of guy but finds beauty in his surroundings. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hiking and fishing, though he hasn’t had success finding fishing spots.

“Other than the fishing part, [Pittsburgh has] been awesome. I’m trying to explore as much as I can.”
