It’ll be most fans’ first chance to see the team in person since 2019.

It’s official, baby. The Detroit Lions have opened training camp practices to the public. They begin July 31st for season ticket holders and August 2nd for everyone else. If you plan on attending, you can check out details on restrictions, the full schedule, and more here.

Question of the day: Are you planning on attending Lions training camp this summer?

My answer: I’d sure like to.

I’ve gone a couple of times in years past and was just starting to turn it into tradition before coronavirus happened. It’s a super fun experience for folks of all ages, and the Lions usually have Roary, the cheerleading squad, the in-season announcers, as well as former star players all around to entertain before practices start. There are mock combine workouts, giveaways, autographs, and so much more.

I can’t promise that’ll all be the same this year, but I certainly have fond memories of going to training camp. One piece of advice—bring a hat, sunglasses, or both. In 2019, the metal bleachers were directly in the sun all morning and it was hot.

Are you planning on attending training camp this summer? Let’s hear it.
