The Rodgers drama turned out to be just that: drama.

It appears all that drama in Green Bay was for nothing (in 2021, at least).

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, quarterback Aaron Rodgers has told those close to him that he plans on sticking with the Green Bay Packers in 2021 and playing out the season. If true, this ends the recent speculation that Rodgers will retire to avoid playing in Green Bay—a theory that grew late last week when sports betting website started pulling Packers-related wagers from their boards.

On Monday, the Packers had a shareholders meeting to address the Rodgers situation—along with plenty of other topics—with fans.

“We have been working tirelessly with Aaron and his representatives to resolve the issues he raised this offseason and we remain hopeful for a positive resolution,” Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said.

Packers veterans are set to report for training camp on Tuesday. Assuming Rapoport’s sources are sound, that means we can expect Rodgers to be there and for there to be limited drama this year.

That being said, looking back on “The Last Dance” references from both Rodgers and star receiver Davante Adams over the weekend, it seems most likely this will be the franchise quarterback’s final season in Green Bay.
