The Colts are visiting with another interior offensive lineman as the team performs its due diligence on potential ‘draft depth.’

According to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, the Indianapolis Colts will host Marshall interior offensive lineman Dalton Tucker for a ‘Top 30 visit’ on Tuesday before the 2024 NFL Draft:

It’s not the first time the Colts have shown interest in Tucker, as the team reportedly previously interviewed him during this past January’s Hula Bowl.

Regarding Tucker:

“The 6’7,” 319 pound redshirt senior started 13 games for the Thundering Herd during the 2023 regular season, earning All-Sun Belt honorable mention.

The Paris, Kentucky, native is a tough, experienced, and durable collegiate offensive lineman, with prototypical size, solid hand placement, and ideal knee bend. He has adequate athleticism and likely projects to be an offensive guard again at the pro level.”

The Colts have clearly been performing their due diligence on some interior offensive line depth as of late, as the team also reportedly met virtually with South Carolina Nick Gargiulo.

While Tucker projects as a late ‘Day 3’ selection or priority UDFA rookie signing, Will Fries was once a 2021 7th round pick of the Colts and is now the projected starter at right guard—meaning there’s an opportunity for growth and future prominent playing time for even later picks/UDFAs, if they can continue to improve and capitalize on their chances.

Even a certain former Colts All-Pro and Ring of Honor member, center Jeff Saturday, immediately comes to mind too, who was signed undrafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 1998 (and later waived) before being signed by Indianapolis in 1999—and the rest being history.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Colts ultimately end up with Tucker, but there appears to be considerable interest on their end in the local Kentucky native.
