About the best news the Saints could ask for this week as Marshon Lattimore, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and Payton Turner look to be good to go for Sunday’s action.

The New Orleans Saints just got the best news they could ask for from the player personnel side as Marshon Lattimore and others are without a game designation, signifying their expected availability for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.

New Orleans Saints

Getting both Marshon Lattimore and C.J. Gardner-Johnson back after just one week is massively impactful for the Saints. Particularly to get Lattimore back so quickly following reported surgery on his right hand. Having both of them present against rookie quarterback Mac Jones has clear benefits.

The same goes for both Tanoh Kpassagnon and rookie Payton Turner. Turner had a strong debut last week against the Panthers, one of the few bright spots on the defensive side. During the his first action he totaled six pressures, a sack, and three tackles for a loss. Getting that kind of pressure on Mac Jones could help to rattle the rookie in his early goings as a starter. Kpassagnon took over in Week 1 after Marcus Davenport left with an injury. He contributed to the tune of a sack-fumble in the redzone against Packers QB Jordan Love.

The weakside linebacker spot next to Demario Davis will be an interesting role to watch this week. second0year linebacker Zack Baun made his off-ball linebacker debut as a starter last week and struggled with a tough assignment against Christian McCaffrey. Will Baun get another run this weekend at the spot? Or will it shift to rookie Pete Werner who looks to be a go this week.

New England Patriots

Right as things looked to be on the up and up for the Patriots pass rush with Matt Judon trending healthier, sack-leader Josh Uche is currently questionable.

The Patriots have also struggled a bit on the offensive line through the first two games of the season. Star tackle Trent Brown being listed as questionable may indicate further struggles in that area while the Saints are getting healthier at the opposition.
