The Steelers make two moves to fill out the roster ahead of Sunday’s game against the Packers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made two moves ahead of their Week 4 game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday. In order to have enough options at various positions, the Steelers have elevated offensive tackle Chaz Green and wide receiver Cody White from the practice squad. This per Brooke Pryor of ESPN.

Not having eight offense of lineman available for Sunday, the Steelers needed to make a roster move in order to have the ability to dress 48 players. Adopted in the latest Collective Bargaining Agreement, teams must have eight offensive linemen dressed in order to have 48 players active on game day.

With only two available tackles for Sunday, the Steelers have elevated Chaz Green. Green has been an NFL journeyman since he was drafted in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Appearing in 37 games in his career, Green has only started eight contests with the most recent being one game started in 2020 for the Indianapolis Colts. Green has spent time with the Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos, and the Colts.

Playing 118 snaps in the 2021 preseason for the Steelers, Green did a quality job with his given opportunity and landed on the Steelers practice squad.

The other player elevated from the Steelers practice squad for their Week 4 matchup is wide receiver Cody White, who was also elevated in Week 3. With Chase Claypool downgraded to out for the game on Saturday, and the Steelers typically carrying five wide receivers, White was the choice yet again among three wide receivers on the Steelers practice squad.

Undrafted out of Michigan State in 2020, White bounced around that offseason between the Chiefs, Giants, and Broncos. Added to the Steelers practice squad in September 2020, White spent the entire year with the Steelers from that point and was signed to a futures contract in the offseason.
