  • San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs: +1.5 (-115)

This is one of the more intriguing Super Bowls in recent memory for me. The Chiefs have a chance to become the first team in 19 years to win the Super Bowl in back-to-back seasons. Meanwhile, the 49ers are back in the Super Bowl with their eyes set on finally getting over the hump and winning it all.

Let’s dive into Jets X-Factor’s best bets for Super Bowl LVIII.

Best bets for Super Bowl LVIII

The 49ers enter Super Bowl LVIII as the NFC’s number one seed. They won 12 games during the regular season and looked like Super Bowl contenders the entire way. With Brock Purdy under center, the 49ers just continue to win. Kansas City, however, finished in third place in the AFC and had to win two road games to make it to Super Bowl LVIII.

I think the 49ers are the better team in this game. Especially on offense, San Francisco was at the top of the league in almost every category. The 49ers were first in the NFL in red zone efficiency, second in first downs, fourth in passing yards, third in rushing yards, and first in yards per play.

Because Las Vegas is so close to California, I am expecting more of a 49ers crowd at Allegiant Stadium come game day. Also, with the Chiefs being in the Super Bowl for the fourth time in the last five years, I imagine the 49ers fans will have more urgency to get to see their team play in the Super Bowl.

I like the motivational factor in this game for the 49ers. Most of this core played in the Super Bowl LIV against the Chiefs or has played in four NFC Championship games since 2019. They are hungry and will want to get redemption on the Chiefs.

Lastly, and this does not mean much, but it feels like the 49ers are finally due to get over the hump and win a Super Bowl. After being up two scores in Super Bowl LIV, I think this is the game the Niners get it done.

The play: 49ers ML (-122)

The second play in Super Bowl LVIII will be on the Under. I think this will be a lower-scoring game as both teams have strong defenses that can take over games.

The Chiefs have been relying on their defense more this season than any other year with Patrick Mahomes. Steve Spagnuolo has done an admirable job this season with the Chiefs’ defense. They quietly ranked fourth in first downs and passing yards allowed, second in sacks, and fifth in points per game during the regular season. In their three playoff games, the Chiefs defense is allowing only 13.6 points per game.

The 49ers defense has not been as dominant as they have been in recent years but they are still filled with stars all over the field. Led by Nick Bosa, the 49ers can get after the quarterback as well as any team and have one of the best linebacker duos in all of football with Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw.

I anticipate this game being a tight but low-scoring Super Bowl.

The play: Under 47.5
