Peterson (5-11, 185) took part in this week’s minicamp on a tryout basis. This marks the second player the Titans have signed after hosting them on a tryout in recent weeks. The first was former Vanderbilt wide receiver Kalija Lipscomb, who signed with the Titans back on May 17th.
Peterson is 27 years old and has spent time with the Bears, Rams and Cardinals. He played in 12 games with the Cardinals in 2020. Peterson attended college at Oklahoma State, and broke into the league as an undrafted free agent with the Bears in 2016.
To make room on the roster, the team released defensive end Justus Reed. This is somewhat significant because Reed was one of the team’s undrafted free agents. He’s the first 2021 UDFA to be let go. It appears that the Titans have seen enough. Reed spent his college career with three different teams — Florida, Youngstown State and Virginia Tech.
