Twitter reacts to Falcons signing free-agent WR Darnell Mooney

NFL free agency doesn’t officially begin until Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET, but the Atlanta Falcons have already addressed their two biggest needs. After agreeing to terms with former Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins on Monday, the team landed former Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney on Tuesday afternoon.

Mooney, 26, becomes the team’s new No. 2 wide receiver opposite Drake London. The former fifth-round pick has recorded 213 catches for 2,593 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns since being drafted by Chicago in 2020. In 2021, Mooney had his best season, grabbing 81 catches for 1,055 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
