Tyler Boyd named Bengals’ Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award nominee

Wide receiver Tyler Boyd is the 2023 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award nominee for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Created in 2014, the award honors the player who “best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents and integrity in competition”, per the NFL.

Troy Vincent, NFL executive vice president of football operations, expanded: “Sportsmanship is the core of the game, the vanguard of public confidence, the keeper of game integrity. These Rooney Sportsmanship Award nominees exemplify the spirit of fair play and the values of respect, integrity, commitment to team and resiliency at the highest level of competition.”

A panel of former players will narrow the list of 32 to just eight finalists and current NFL players will vote. The winner, announced at NFL Honors, will net a $25,000 donation to a charity of their choosing.
