The Chargers’ safety hauled in the interception on a deep shot by the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback towards the end of the first half

The Bolts’ defense have played very well against the Chiefs so far, limiting their usually explosive offense to 129 total yards. Alohi Gilman compounded their division rivals’ misery by taking an easy pick that floated down into his waiting arms after a clear misinterpretation between the backup quarterback and his wide receiver. It seems like Mecole Hardman Jr. thought this ball wasn’t coming his way and gave up on it which left Alohi clear to grab an easy takeaway.
This is Gilman’s second interception on the season and his fifth forced turnover which leads all defensive players on the Chargers. The Bolts’ safety has played brilliantly down the stretch as he forced two turnovers against the Buffalo Bills in Week 16.
