Allen Robinson is a great wide receiver on the field for the Chicago Bears. But what does he do when he’s not on the field making impressive catches or posting back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons?

On a new episode of Whistle’s Cheat Day, we get a look at Robinson’s life off the football field on one of his rare days off. And he’s just like you and me. Minus the shoe collection.

One of the things Robinson does during his time off is play video games. And his gamer play is right up there with his his ability on the gridiron, as he calls himself “one of the best gamers” among his close group of friends.

Some of Robinson’s favorites include Call of Duty (where he gives himself a B+), NBA 2K (where he’s an A-) and Madden (where he’s an A or A-).

Playing video games has also allowed Robinson time to decompress, where he can talk with some friends about things happening during the season. As Bears fans are well aware, he had a well-documented contract dispute that dominated the headlines, and video games were a way for Robinson to get away.

“Sometimes we’ll get on the games — me, my boys and my agent — and we’ll just play and talk and chat,” Robinson said. “Especially depending on how the season is going. This year having contract talks and all that stuff. Just being able to get on the game with my buddies was fun.”

Typically when you think of cheat days, it’s that day where you can eat the things that you don’t otherwise eat. For Robinson, that same logic applies. Only his literal cheat days come after a game.

“If there’s any day where I eat as a cheat day, typically it’ll be right after the game,” Robinson said. “So we play on a Sunday, I might have a pizza like Sunday evening. Or I might have a more heavier food on that Sunday.”

And if there’s anyone who’s earned a cheat day after a hard day’s work on the football field, it’s Robinson.

You can watch the full episode of Cheat Day featuring Robinson below, where he also discusses the importance of fatherhood, family and his massive sneaker collection, which includes about 350 pairs.
