According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, the Chargers hosted Michigan defensive tackle Kris Jenkins on a pre-draft visit.

This marks the third former Wolverine that Los Angeles has brought in, with the other two being running back Blake Corum and linebacker Junior Colson.

Jenkins is an athletic, versatile and powerful interior defender who dominates in the run game with good extension and leverage, is strong at the point of attack, can stack and shed, and has untapped pass rush upside.

Jenkins’ most memorable season came in 2022 when he finished with 54 tackles (the most by a Michigan defensive tackle since 2017), 3.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks. In 2023, he topped his TFLs (4.5) and sacks (2.5).

The Chargers need to bolster the middle of the defensive line and Jenkins could be an immediate contributor under his former defensive coordinator, Jesse Minter.
