Your source for all Chargers and NFL news from around the web. Keenan Allen has a fresh injury that kept him out of practice completely so his status is now in doubt for Week 13’s trip to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots.

Good morning, Bolts From the Blue.

At the start of Week 13 the Chargers are on the outside looking in of the playoff hunt however they can take a positive step towards their goal by beating the AFC’s worst team; the New England Patriots. To do this though they will certainly need the services of their star wide receiver Keenan Allen whose status for the game has been brought into doubt after Wednesday’s injury report revealed he has a new injury. Having battled through a shoulder injury that he suffered in Week 10’s loss to the Detroit Lions he was looking healthy for the final playoff push however he has apparently suffered a quadricep injury which meant he was unable to practice at all.

It is too soon for panic however Keenan Allen has 32.9% of the teams’ targets and 38.9% of the receiving yards, both of which lead the entire league, so if he were to miss this game then I am sure that 6-point favortism will be shortened significantly.

Both starting offensive tackles, Rashawn Slater and Trey Pipkins, were limited to start the week which is definitely something to monitor. Nick Vannett is still in the concussion protocol and is yet to practice since Week 11.
