The Colts have shown interest in a team captain and former All-Ivy League offensive lineman who has tremendous versatility.

According to The Draft Network’s Justin Melo, the Indianapolis Colts are among the teams that recently met virtually with South Carolina center Nick Gargiulo during the pre-draft evaluation process:

At 6’5,” 318 pounds (33 7’8” arms), Gargiulo showcased impressive physical measurables at the recent NFL Combine—including long arms, wingspan, and big hands.

In his lone season as a grad transfer for the Gamecocks, starting 12 games (5 at left guard and 7 at center) as a team captain, Gargiulo earned Third-Team All-SEC honors by the College Football Network.

Prior to joining South Carolina, Gargiulo played in 25 games for the Yale Bulldogs, and he was a team captain and unanimous First-Team All-Ivy member during the 2023 campaign.

He participated in this year’s Hula Bowl.

Gargiulo has been well regarded for his strong hands, strength, footwork, and above average athleticism, but needs to improve upon his pad level and some of his technique.

Having even started 10 games at left tackle for Yale during the 2019 season, Gargiulo has experience all over the offensive line. He projects as an interior offensive lineman at the next level, but his positional versatility should make him a valuable ‘Day 3’ trench option for an NFL team looking to improve its interior o-line depth—including the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts did re-sign Danny Pinter to be Ryan Kelly’s top backup at center, but outside of him, most of the backup jobs appear to be wide open along the offensive line right now.
